The City of Tustin, CA sure knows how to draw a crowd with their Annual Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off. This popular event was back on August 15th, 2021 with a bang, after a virtual-only affair in 2020. This year’s cook-off took place in the Old Town area at Peppertree Park.
Why Does the City of Tustin Hold an Annual Cook-Off?
This community is big on giving back, which is what this event is all about! Several non-profit groups and organizations received donation funds generated by the proceeds from the Street Fair & Cook-Off. This year’s beneficiaries include (but weren’t limited to):
- The Miss Tustin Scholarship Program
- Patriots and Paws
- Power of One Foundation
- Tustin Area Senior Center Fund
- Tustin High School Boys Basketball
The 2021 Street Fair & Chili Cook-Off Was a Blast!
In comparison to previous years, 2021 was a smaller, more intimate one due to COVID. Because of the lower capacity, online pre-sale admissions sold out quickly! But don’t mistake smaller for quieter. This year’s event featured live entertainment, food trucks and booths, craft vendors, kid’s activities, stage contests, and of course, a chili competition. Combine that with Tustin residents itching to socialize, and the event became quite the lively experience.
