Go For a Hike on Box Springs Mountain

As the locals in Moreno Valley and all agree, hiking Box Springs Mountain is fantastic! The scenery is gorgeous and the wildlife vast. The trails are well-kept and feature several different levels. There are also plenty of biking trails for those who like to bike more than a hike. You’ll see the signature tree all over the place, too, the eucalyptus. (We recommend grabbing a handful of leaves and giving some a good sniff. The aroma is intoxicating!) Not only is this one of the best things to do in Moreno Valley, but it’s also free.

Jump Out of a Perfectly Good Airplane

There’s nothing quite like seeing your town or city from high in the sky while you fly overhead. Of course, you usually then travel by plane back to the airport. However, for more adventurous souls, you can see Moreno Valley while you parachute! The folks at Skydive Perris are the professional parachutists in these parts. They have the skill, knowledge, experience, and gear to help you fall back to earth safely. They also offer an indoor diving facility for those who want the thrill with none of the risks. (It’s great if you’re looking for things to do in Moreno Valley with kids!)

Things To Do: Moreno Valley Veterans Memorial

Finished in 2007, the Moreno Valley Veterans Memorial is a unique star shape. Granite pillars surround a cross in the center. It represents the ‘Fallen Soldier.’ The names of veterans lost in America’s various wars are on the post. It’s a somber place, no doubt, but still quite lovely. Beautiful olive trees are surrounding the memorial, and a lovely rose garden also. All in all, it can be a very moving but also relaxing and inspiring experience.

The views and vistas around the lake are beautiful from nearly every vantage point. Even better, a massive system of trails allows you to see the lake from many different locations. Some of them skirt the lake while others take you into the surrounding countryside. Either way, it’s breathtaking and one of the best things to do in Moreno Valley with kids. (Plus, when you get home, they’ll all be ready to take a nap!)

Things To Do: Discover Amazing Scientific Facts

Where can you fund a mastodon named Max and a mammoth named Xena? At the Western Science Center, of course! If it has to do with science, you’ll find it here! This is one of the best things to do in Moreno Valley with kids because they love it! Many of the attractions you’ll find in the Western Science Center are interactive. That’s great because it means the kids can touch them without getting into trouble. There’s even a ‘dig’ site where kids can dig for fossils and help discover Little Stevie. (He’s a mastodon of some note in these parts.)
